View Full Version : What is the sling and buis setup for the LMT L129A1
Im trying to replicate the overall look and feel of the LMT L129A1, with my MWS and was wondering if anyone knew the slingplate/adapter that is used for the rear and the sling style used.
Also, what buis are the brits running?
TIA!
KAC micro sights. Don't have any info on the other stuff ,it wasn't listed in the article that was done a few months back about the L129A1. Combat Arms I believe.

Exactly, I've been trying to figure out the sling thing since then. I saw some of the combat fielding pics and saw a rear sling attachment loop, just past the castle nut, but I cant quite figure out what attachment it is.
thanks for the sights, btw.

ah, i saw that in a thread a while back, but i thought it was a joke when i saw the helmet.
any clue what sling that is?
Maybe a condor CBT Bungee sling....basically its just a 1 pt. bungee sling.

The condor converts to a 2 pt. and if you will note....lmt supplies the MoD guns with 2 lmt qd swivels and dudeman in the pic has one on the front of his rail and then is using one to hook into what would appear to be a qd socket on a sling plate.

I understand the desire to build "clones" however I personally would foregoe replicating that craptastic single point bungee sling and go with a 2-point VCAS by BFG.
Cheers
I would totally agree w. buddy on his point above......the sling, the vfg, the acog, and the rail guards are not for me personally on the gun pic'd.

I wasnt going for an exact clone, just trying to get close enough based on the way i think the weapon should be.

the *clone/not-clone/kinda-clone* thing has been covered already so...
as for the rear sling attachment point the only one that makes sense is the Noveske QD. i've used almost every design i can think of and that is the only one that gives me everything i want and nothing i don't. you plug in a QD swivel to the rear and run whatever sling you want.
i've seen a lot of guys come in and buy the MagPul sling and plate then return sooner or later to replace one or both. (lots of BAD levers suffer the same fate)
the QD socket adapters that give you one on each side are just larger than need be. they're not as *ambi* friendly in an *on the fly* transition.
i don't run slings attached to the rear of the receiver any more but i still install the Noveske plate for that *if i want to* moment.
Viking sling FTW!!
That front sight is NOT a KAC Micro. It's the older KAC front rail flip up model.
To answer some of the points:-
Sling plate with double sling loops: Made by us in UK. It is heat treated (hardened) steel, phosphated, then powder coated.
Singlepoint sling: North East Tactical in NH, USA
Folding front grip: CAA/Tdi, USA

Thanks for clearing that up for us pal:)

I agree 100%. The KAC units are a close second however the Noveske is unobtrusive and IMHO the best QD offering on the market.
